GERMANY
The reasons for the interest in immigrating to Germany are very diverse. Germany is the largest economy in all of Europe and focuses on innovation. This attracts many companies from abroad to Germany. Social security, a high standard of living and the fact that German passport is the most powerful in the world are further reasons for immigration to Germany.
The route to achieving residency in Germany is slightly different than most other popular European countries in the sense that they do not offer visas through passive investments. However, Germany instead offers a more hands-on opportunity where it offers an entrepreneurial visa which is designed to encourage investment into a sector that creates employment opportunities and is treated by the investor as a genuine business opportunity that pays into the local economy. In return for such economic investment and entrepreneurial activity, temporary visas are granted for family members of the investor which are able to lead to Permanent Residence (PR) for the main applicant after 3 years and remaining family members after 5 years. The foreign national must purchase real estate and make an entrepreneurial investment into a regional development fund.
