Woodland & Forestry
“The health of our woodlands and our overall forestry stocks is paramount to the health of the air we breathe and the world we live in. By innovating the way we approach sustainable resource management, we are able to revolutionise how we produce everyday consumer products.”
British and Irish woodland is a highly sought-after and respected commodity and it is an asset class that is receiving ever greater interest in terms of both lifestyle and investment. At home and abroad, Charter Life are committed to supporting sustainable woodland management practices to ensure that we help to preserve our existing woodland coverage whilst supporting the creation of new commercial and non-commercial woodland stocks. At present, the woodland area of the United Kingdom is 3.17 million hectares, which equates to just 13% of the UK’s land mass.
Our objective is to maximise the value of non-commercial woodland as well as utilising the value of commercially managed timber operations. Whilst helping to satisfy the growing demands for UK and Irish timber, our priority is to ensure that such demands are met in a sustainable manner so that the present demands do not hamper our ability to meet the needs of our future generations. Currently, of the 3.17 million hectares of woodland in the UK, 44% of which (1.39 hectares) are independently certified as being sustainably managed – it is our goal to contribute towards the growth of this number whilst fully maximising the benefits that non-commercial and commercial woodlands present.
Charter Life offer full turn-key woodland freehold acquisition services whilst also offering sustainable woodland management programs. Alongside our freehold acquisition services, we are equally engaged in tree plantation programs both home and abroad. Whether you are purchasing woodland areas for lifestyle or asset acquisition purposes, we can help you to maximise the full potential value of your acquisition goals.
